The Human Understanding Movement is an ambitious open-source initiative to create the world's first comprehensive, living documentation of human intelligence—capturing the intricate dance of memory, intuition, cognition, and nervous-system processes that define our species. At its core, this project measures and articulates the profound gap between human capabilities and artificial intelligence, creating a dynamic knowledge base that serves both scientific inquiry and practical application.

This led to the creation of the Human Intelligence Collective. Every Tuesday evening, we gather to explore and document different aspects of human intelligence - from the way we form intuitive connections and show emotional wisdom, to how we navigate ethical complexities and spark creative breakthroughs.

The future needs more than code — it needs consciousness.

We are not just another discussion group. We're building something bigger: a living library of human capabilities. Each week, members share real-world experiences, document insights, and collaboratively develop our understanding of human intelligence. Some members lead sessions on emotional intelligence drawing from their leadership experience. Others contribute chapters on creative problem-solving based on their work in innovation. Many simply come to learn, reflect, and discover their own unique potential.

Stages of HUM

    • Build the first rigorous documentation of how humans actually think, connect, and create.

    • Establish a “technical spec” of intelligence, the way CUDA became a spec for GPU computing.

    • Foundation before architecture — without documentation, we can’t design what comes next.

    • Apply Human Docs immediately to the people building AI today.

    • Address burnout, existential strain, and creative block by giving engineers tools rooted in human clarity and resilience.

    • Keeps talent energized and aligned with purpose while scaling AI systems.

    • Use Human Docs as the blueprint for future computing arcs (post-GPU/CPU).

    • Enable designs that don’t just process patterns (separation logic), but also model connection, intuition, and embodied intelligence.

    • Positions HUM as the seed for the architectures that could power true AGI/ASI.
